Inde is an employee-owned New Zealand success story that is changing how IT and professional services are delivered in New Zealand and Australia. With a can-do reputation, serving an Australasian enterprise market we seek a CEO (new role) to lead our passionate team as we strive towards our vision to be Australasia’s leading provider of enterprise technology solutions.  

Here at Inde, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the last seven years.  Inde was founded on an ambition to create a values based, employee-owned company, that by its structure and focus would enable us to design and deliver bespoke technology solutions that meet our customers (not industry) needs, and at the same time focus on and accelerate the development of our staff. 

In some ways we have achieved what we set out to. We are proud of who we are. We live our purpose and our values. We have a strong name and industry partnerships and have established our reputation as key players through successfully working in partnership with our customers to deliver technically led change projects, and by solving our clients’ individual problems rather than offering pre-packaged solutions. 

We know that there is a lot of hard work ahead of us to truly get where we want to go. There are parts of our start up nature that we love and will cling to. Collaboration, our autonomous approach to leadership and decision making, the lack of bureaucracy, hierarchy and politics, the desire to take risk, and the ability to solve problems by thinking outside the box and not let process get in the way of customer outcomes. These are all things we are proud that we have managed to hold on to, as we have transitioned out of our start-up phase. But there are things that do still need to change so that we can continue to grow and fulfil our vision. Therefore, we are appointing our first CEO who can ensure our strategy is developed and delivered in line with our values and purpose, and communicated clearly to a growing team, taking everyone on the journey.  

About the role

The role of CEO will report into the Board, with an Exec team reporting directly into them and a total current staff of around 70. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Executive Leadership: leading with a clear vision, building a cohesive team, and fostering an inclusive collaborative culture
  • Strategy Development and Execution: Including attainment of vision, competitive advantage and new product and service pipeline
  • Organisation Structure and Resourcing
  • Financial and Commercial Management
  • Culture and Engagement
  • Brand Management, Marketing, and Communication
  • Fostering Innovation

In order to be successful in this role, you must believe and back our vision for an employee-owned company, and our values need to resonate with you and how you like to work. You will also need:

  • Previous CEO or extensive senior leadership experience in a medium to large commercial organisation 
  • To be an accomplished leader with a track record of living, developing, nurturing, and bringing values to life every day 
  • Experience in developing, planning, and executing successful strategies on time 
  • Drive and experience to deliver sustainable growth across New Zealand and into Australia 
  • A solid understanding of Enterprise Technology Professional Services and Procurement 
  • To be capable of communicating confidently in a wide range of situations using various channels, including media, internal communications, and client events and presentations 
  • To not be risk adverse – have a willingness to try new ideas, approaches, and opportunities 
  • Understanding of the ‘Getting naked’ approach to consulting and work by Patrick Lencioni
  • Passion for the impact technology can make on business and society 
  • Previous experience working in or with employee-owned companies preferred
