Inde appoints Nish Sudhakaran to strengthen its AI and Data practice

Written by Hayley Wright | Aug 26, 2026

Auckland, New Zealand – 27 August, 2026. Inde Technology today announces the appointment of Nish Sudhakaran as Technical Director, AI and Data, North Island. Based in Auckland, Nish brings extensive experience across data platforms, cloud architecture, AI, machine learning and business intelligence, most recently as Head of Automation at New Zealand Post. There, he was part of one of the organisation's largest digital transformation programmes, helping deliver six automated sortation centres across New Zealand.

His background also includes advisory roles at global consulting firms EY and PwC, working closely with executive and business leadership teams to shape data strategy for large organisations.

Strategy meets hands-on delivery

Nish said the opportunity to join Inde was driven by the ability to combine strategic advice with hands-on delivery.

"In the big consulting firms, the work is largely advisory. You assess where a customer is, recommend where they need to get to, and the implementation usually happens somewhere else. At Inde, I get to do both, understand a customer's problem, advise on the right solution, and then work with a technical team to actually deliver it and see the benefit land. That combination is what excited me most about this role."

Building secure, practical foundations for AI adoption

In his role, Nish will work directly with executives and business leaders across Inde's client base to understand their AI and data strategy, helping them get the foundations like data governance, structure and security right before moving into implementation. Internally, he will focus on strengthening consulting capability within Inde's technical team and expanding the company's data and AI offerings.

He pointed to the pace of change organisations are navigating.

"It's the era of generative AI, copilots and agentic AI, and there's a lot of noise in the market. AI adoption in New Zealand still sits under 50%, and that needs to keep moving. I want to help our customers turn their AI and data vision into practical reality, so they can reach their goals sooner."

Supporting Inde's next phase of growth

Royden Burt, General Manager Solutions at Inde, said Nish's appointment reflects the company's continued investment in building deep capability in AI and data.

"Nish combines technical depth with genuine consulting skill. He understands the customer's business problem and the outcomes they need to achieve. Then he brings the right expertise to deliver a whole solution, not just a point fix. That's the kind of partner we want to be: working alongside our clients' teams, sharing accountability for outcomes, and growing their capability as much as our own. Nish will play a key role in helping our clients navigate their AI and data journey with confidence."

Nish's appointment builds on Inde's ongoing investment in its AI and data capabilities, complementing its broader strategic focus on helping clients modernise their technology environments and unlock new opportunities for growth.

It further strengthens Inde's senior capability, reinforcing its commitment to delivering practical, outcome-driven solutions that help New Zealand organisations succeed in an AI and data-driven world.
