Senior Network Engineer

Collaborate with a highly skilled team of specialists to design and deliver outstanding technical solutions for our customers. Reporting to one of our Network Directors, this permanent full-time senior role is an opportunity to work alongside a team of passionate, dedicated individuals and develop your skills at a cloud-first provider of enterprise technology business solutions.

We keep our products and systems simple and nimble so that we are not constrained by processes and procedures. You will have the autonomy to use a customer focused, cross-team approach to ensure we deliver the best possible solution to address the customer’s key problems.

  • Create and implement innovative, industry-leading solutions utilising your own expertise as well as the knowledge of your team
  • Consult with a diverse range of large, well-known enterprise customers, using your people skills and decision-making ability to take their dreams and turn them into a technical reality
  • Take on challenging projects that stretch you to develop your skills
  • Engage in regular training. Learning forms an essential part of your week. We invest heavily in upskilling our people by funding training, exams, and any resources needed to gain new certifications
  • Grow the expertise of your team members through coaching and collaboration

We’re looking for talented people based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch who enjoy the flexibility of working under a fully hybrid work model. The role may also involve working at customer sites.

Skills and Experience

Our favourite technology is whatever works best to create great outcomes for our customers, but it is likely you will have certifications and experience in the following:

  • Routing (BGP, OSPF, IGRP) 
  • Switching (Aruba, Cisco, Juniper - enterprise campus and data centre)
  • Firewalling (FortiNet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA) 
  • SDWAN (Citrix, Palo Alto, FortNet)
  • Cloud Networking (Azure and AWS)
  • Wireless (Aruba, Juniper MIST and Cisco, cloud-based wireless management platforms) 
  • Automation (Cloud management platforms, scripting and execution environments, consuming REST APIs) 
  • Access control platforms (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass)
  • Consulting with customers on options and features required to meet business needs
  • Designing and presenting solutions and scopes of work to customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to conduct research into issues 
  • The ability to communicate complex topics in audience-appropriate detail and terminology
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks
  • Previous experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable

As an ideal candidate, you will have the ability to conduct research into issues and problems, present ideas in audience-appropriate language, be self-motivated, and able to effectively prioritise tasks. Previous experience in a professional services environment is highly desirable.

Security Clearance Checks

The role will involve customer work that is highly sensitive in nature, therefore we can only consider applicants who are able to obtain national security clearance to ‘Secret’ or ‘Top Secret’ level. To gain clearance, applicants will need to be either a New Zealand citizen or resident, and NOT have lived outside of the ‘Five Eyes’ countries (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA) for more than 2 of the last 10 years.
