We are looking for a Director of our Programme Management team to lead and grow our capability, capacity, and ensure Inde’s future projects continue to be outstanding successes. We realise that putting together a job application can take a bit of time. So, before you invest, we figured you probably have some questions about us. We shall try and answer them for you. (Otherwise, if you already know about us, skip to the bottom for directions on how to apply.)
Who is Inde? Are you new around here?
Yes and no. Inde was founded in Christchurch in 2016 as a small team specialising in cloud-first enterprise technology solutions. Since then, we have added offices in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin and grown to over 60 staff. We have kept our specialist enterprise focus, united across multiple specialist teams. (Enterprise Networking, Cloud & Compute, Enterprise Security, Workspace, Application Delivery, Data & Integration, Procurement & Licensing, and Governance.) We have trusted relationships with some of New Zealand's and Australia's leading enterprise customers (Check out our clients page).
Are you just another player in the market but without any of the pulling power of the big players?
You’d think so, but it seems the market likes our strategy. Because we only work with enterprise clients, we are very good at delivering them the expertise they need. Then word spread. Before we knew it, we were winning contracts just based on our reputation. From there, customers started requesting that our staff work at a strategic advisory level within their organisations, as well as on projects. So, although we are local, we still work with the biggest customers, on their biggest projects. At the end of the day, we don’t have pulling power because we are big, we have respect because our customers know we deliver (For more details regarding our partner statuses and awards have a look at our website).
What is so different about Inde? How has a local start up managed to outcompete its biggest competitors?
Inde was created by a bunch of engineers determined to create a company they wanted to work for. Six years ago, they set their values and they haven’t changed. But what’s more, these values direct every decision we make. From who we hire, to what customers we choose. From what solutions we propose, to our deliberately developmental culture. We are…
Outcome focused: We strive to understand our customers' businesses, their environment, and the outcomes they need to succeed. We approach our work from the customer's perspective and prioritise results. The solutions we offer are designed and created specifically to meet the needs of each customer.
Specialists: We are a skilled team committed to being and staying the best in our fields. We use the collective knowledge in the team to understand a problem and offer a whole solution based on our customers business needs.
There for each other: We willingly share our time and knowledge to support each other; we share the workload and ownership, even when a mistake is made. We help each other learn and grow. We treat each other with trust and respect; we're friends and look after each other.
Willing to learn: We want to be the best. We value learning and we are committed to it. We share our knowledge and learn through our work with the support of each other. Our collaboration and our learning are not limited by the team we're in, there are no barriers or limitations on our growth.
Taking ownership: We take responsibility for solutions from start to finish. We're proactive, we use our initiative to step up and get things done. We take pride in our work. We own, communicate, learn from, and fix our mistakes.
It sounds lovely but how do I know you won’t sell out?
Well to be honest, we already have. To our employees. Inde is an employee-owned company and always will be. Every person who owns a part of Inde must be actively working in the business. That means, the people making the decisions that affect you aren’t sitting at a board table somewhere in another country. They are sitting at the desk next to yours. Or they are you. All our staff can qualify to buy shares in Inde. So, when you are working for Inde, you are working for yourself. Your work matters. Your input matters. You matter.
I already have a job. I don’t love it, but how do I know I’m not jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire?
You don’t. At the moment, anyway. But we challenge you to find out. Life is too short to work in a job that doesn’t stretch and satisfy you, or with people you don’t enjoy being with, or in a culture where politics and patch protection decides who does what. Look on our website and find someone who works in the area that excites you (or search LinkedIn for a common connection at Inde), and call them and ask what is it like to work at Inde? Ask around about us. Ask our customers. Because at Inde, what you see is what you get. Then apply following the directions below.
Once you have decided that Inde may be worth taking a chance on please provide your information in the form includuing how you are a good match for our values, (they really are that important to us), and what city you would like to work in.
If you have any questions, then please email them to email@example.com.
As we are a service business, and ongoing customer relationships are of critical importance, it is essential that applicants have excellent written and spoken English and the right to work in New Zealand for at least three years.
