We are looking for a Senior Engineer or Architect with extensive customer facing experience in enterprise networking. This role will see you directly involved with customers, leading and delivering technical solutions, (designing them if you’re an architect) and generating and quoting work within our existing customers.
Over the years Inde has built a reputation among our customers, for not simply delivering what they asked for, but for understanding the problem and designing solutions that lower a customer’s technology risk as a whole. We keep our systems simple and agile so that we are not constrained by processes and procedures. We do not offer out of the box solutions. We offer a customer focused, cross team approach to ensure we deliver the best possible solution to address the customers key problems. This requires someone with the people skills to be able to work with a diverse customer base, and the technical skills and decision-making ability to be able to take their dreams and turn them into a technical reality.
Our favourite technology is whatever works best for the client at the time but it is likely you will have certifications and experience is some of the following; routing (Cisco routers, Citrix and VeloCloud SD-WAN), switching (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper - enterprise campus and data centre), firewalling (FortiNet, Palo Alto, Cisco FTD), wireless (Aruba and Cisco campus wireless, cloud-based wireless management platforms), automation (Cloud management platforms, scripting and execution environments, consuming REST APIs), access control platforms (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass).

Who is Inde? Are you new around here?
Yes and no. Inde was founded in Christchurch in 2016 as a small team specialising in cloud-first enterprise technology solutions. Since then, we have added offices in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland and grown to 50 staff. We have kept our specialist enterprise focus, united across multiple specialist teams. (Enterprise Networking, Cloud & Compute, Enterprise Security, Workspace, Application Delivery, Data & Integration, Procurement & Licensing, and Governance.) We have trusted relationships with the majority of enterprise customers in the South Island, as well an many nationwide customers, government departments and even a few international customers. Are you just another player in the market but without any of the pulling power of the big players?
You’d think so, but it seems the market likes our strategy. Because we only work with enterprise clients, we are very good at delivering them the expertise they need. Then word spread. Before we knew it, we were winning contracts just based on our reputation. From there, customers started requesting that our staff work at a strategic advisory level within their organisations, as well as on projects. So, although we are local, we still work with the biggest customers, on their biggest projects. In fact, we are number one in NZ for SD-WAN and were a global finalist in the Citrix Innovation Awards. At the end of the day, we don’t have pulling power because we are big, we have respect because our customers know we deliver. What is so different about Inde? How has a local start up managed to outcompete its biggest competitors?

It sounds lovely but how do I know you won’t sell out?
Well to be honest, we already have. To our employees. Inde is an employee-owned company and always will be. Every person who owns a part of Inde must be actively working in the business. That means, the people making the decisions that affect you aren’t sitting at a board table somewhere in another country. They are sitting at the desk next to yours. Or they are you. All our staff can qualify to buy shares in Inde. So when you are working for Inde, you are working for yourself. Your work matters. Your input matters. You matter.
I already have a job. I don’t love it, but how do I know I’m not jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire?
You don’t. At the moment, anyway. But we challenge you to find out.
